The much-awaited Himalayan pilgrimage, popularly known as the Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand, officially commenced on 30th April 2025 with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples on the auspicious occasion of Akshaya Tritiya. The sacred doors of Kedarnath Temple opened on 2nd May, while the revered Badrinath Dham is set to open on 4th May.

In addition to the Char Dham Yatra, the Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit is also set to open soon. Out of the five Panch Kedar temples, Kedarnath and Rudranath have already opened. The Madhyamaheshwar and Tungnath temples are scheduled to open on 18th May and 20th May, respectively. Once all five temples are accessible, devotees can undertake the complete Panch Kedar Yatra through the serene Himalayan landscape.

The number of days required for the Char Dham Yatra depends on the starting point and the number of shrines you plan to visit:

- From Haridwar/Rishikesh/Dehradun: Minimum 10–11 days
Do Dham Yatra (Any 2 shrines, e.g., Kedarnath & Badrinath)

- From Haridwar/Rishikesh: Approximately 7 days
Ek Dham Yatra (Any 1 shrine)
- From Delhi: Around 6 days
- From Haridwar/Rishikesh: Around 5 days
